The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a new benchmark for quality for the veteran headset manufacturer. Managing to provide excellent value, robust design, a fantastic sound stage and look stylish and understated all the while, this headset is as effortless to wear as it is to pair with your tech. Sure, the audio quality might not be the very top end of what you’d expect from a modern headset, but with something this packed full of features and creature comforts, you can forgive its foibles in this one area.

We can't recommend the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Headset enough for anyone looking for a premium, long-lasting, comfortable headset: It's on every box we looked at when searching for decent tech. Lasts. And, in a world where pairing a headset with a Bluetooth dongle and wrestling with buttons and flaps and dials is the norm, the simplicity, and ease of use on the Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a mile away. It is, by some margin, one of the best PS4 headsets on the market and the best Xbox One headsets at this price point.
Stylish, sophisticated, and well built for such a modest barrier to entry (at least compared to some of the more expensive headsets), this headset can easily be used for music-listening parties, solo game sessions, or raids. can deal with. A crystal clear mic that is - unfortunately - indiscriminately what it picks up can give you pause if you live in a noisy area or home.
The only price you'll pay for this sturdy, jack-of-all-trades set-up is the particularly bright mix and some minor glitches in the game. But when you're yelling at the mic about an inappropriate guard brake in Guilty Gear Strive or holding your breath as your Clan mate saves you from being wiped out in a raid, you're still fond of the headset for bass and mids anyway. will hardly see.

In a world of gaudy colors, RGB light strips, and apparently 'gamer' design, the cool black of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is stylish, a breath of fresh air. Black and silver are always going to look smart — and pair with the Xbox Series X and its related accessories — and the large, soft ear cushions bring some of the soft textures that tie the whole thing together. These apparently incredible leatherette cushions filled with cooling gel-infused memory foam fit snugly into your ears, and you could wear this thing all night banging your head against a Destiny 2 raid and not want to take it off. We at Turtle Beach take off our figurative hats for the ergonomics testers.
The headset's newly added metal-reinforced headband and glasses-friendly design mean that even players with large heads and glasses frames won't be allowed to feel uncomfortable during a marathon session. We have very minor complaints about the quality of the hinges and joints that allow the cups to move and the headband to be adjusted, but the headset has held up through some fairly thorough testing (over a period of months!) And it's as good as new now, almost 100+ days into our review period.
Pairing with the headset's comfortable setup is a battery life that puts older wireless models to shame. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 should last up to 20 hours on a single charge—though we've managed to get more out of the headset on occasion (when playing without voice chat, for example). This first-gen headset offers double the battery life, and it charges via USB-C, making it fit with most modern accessories as well.

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 has 50mm Nano Clear neodymium drivers, so the headset is best in complex, more bass-focused environments and games. As such, FPS enthusiasts and shooter gluttons will most likely enjoy a more low-end focused sound stage. If things start to get really busy - we're looking at you MMO players - the headset may struggle to layer things in a way that's easy to parse, and in a busy environment, you may notice that the headset's volume is not the same. General clarity gets a bit messy.
Pro players, you'll enjoy the ability to toggle different settings to bring up a variety of sound types - one setting (Superhuman Hearing) prioritizes footprints and accidental sounds, making it easier for opponents to pick up on directions in FPS titles goes. More times than we're willing to admit, there's something left out of our hiding in the warzone. Just be aware that it seems to boost all audio levels as well, so you may need to change the volume settings console-side to offset this.
Microphone quality and wireless connectivity
The microphone is incredibly accurate and clear and allows you to speak at a comfortable volume without any interruptions or distortion at the end of listening. The flip-to-mute feature — making a welcome re-appearance from other Turtle Beach hardware — is as intuitive and easy to use as ever, and eliminates intoxicating gaffes (if you're too prone to them) or unwanted munching sounds. will help stop it.
